Airtel on 2nd September 2019 (Monday) launched its Xstream box and Xstream stick in India the company rebranded Airtel TV to Airtel Xstream with the refreshed user interface and said users will be able to access the streaming services on the web as well.
Airtel Xstream box also known as 4K hybrid box, price in India is Rs 3,999. The existing Airtel Digital TV users get a discounted price of Rs 2,249. It comes with the 1 year subscription (worth Rs 999) to Airtel Xstream app content, as well as I month subscription. Airtel is touting the Xstream set-top-box to combine both satellite TV and OTT content, something its Airtel Internet TV set-top-box already offered in 2007. It allows the customers to choose 500 TV channels and also can access content via the preloaded Airtel Xstream app.
The partners of Airtel Xstream includes ZEE5, Hooq, Hoi Choi, Eros now, Hungama play, shermarooMe, Ultra, and Curiosity Stream. Users can also play games via Airtel games and it also has Amazon’s Alexa support. Airtel users can recharge their DTH accounts through BHIM UPI QR code through the box.
